Óme refers to the softened sound of reverberation. How does the fiddle fill the room so it reverberates, and what is left in dance when sound dies out?

Óme is a duet with dancer Silje Onstad Hålien and fiddler Sivert Holmen. In Óme, music and dance blend together, creating a unique duet which gives the audience a new way to experience folk music and folk dance.

Attentive, sensitive, explorative and detailed performance – grounded in dance and music traditions with deep historical roots, and in contemporary stage practices.

Óme premiered in July 2023 and was co produced with Førdefestivalen, Riksscenen and Hilme with Kari Anne Bjerkestrand as artistic director.
